After-School

Ages 7-12

Our specialty after-school program gives children the chance to truly connect to their environment. Our first program is currently running from September until the end of December and therefore gives your child to understand how the land evolves and transforms through the season. They develop a deep understanding and respect for nature. Each day will have 12 kids maximum with 2 staff and occasional volunteers present. Children will arrive at the program via school bus and be provided with a snack and engage in free play or programmed activities from 2-5:30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. Stay tuned for upcoming programming in the spring and summer of 2026!

Year-round programming

With a comfortable shelter and warming place, proper gear, and rigorous safety protocols, our programs are designed to get your kids outside all year long. There is fun to be had in the snow, rain, and sunshine!

Snack provided

One snack per day will be provided per child. We ask that parents are responsible for packing extra snack for after-school as we only give one snack per child per day.

Bushcraft skill-building

We believe that with proper instruction, listening skills, and self-awareness, children can learn to use a variety of tools. It is natural for children to want to learn how to start a fire, tie knots, and use hand tools for building when you spend so much time in the forest. See our safety protocols in our Parent Handbook.

Easy transportation

Children arrive at Turkey Tails via the South Shore Regional School Board Bus Services via the Petite Riviere Elementary School. Please let us and the school know if your child will not be attending.
